Development Planning Office
The Development Planning Office (to which the University’s “Project 211” Office is attached) is the responsible department which helps the University to implement the principles, policies and laws relating to development planning and construction formulated by the state and the Ministry of Education and has overall responsibility for the University’s development plans and key construction projects.
Its work functions are to formulate the University’s medium- and long-term development planning, to study the overall strategy for the University’s development and
the positioning for school running, to take charge of the construction of the “Project 211” and disciplines, and to be responsible for campus planning, selection of advisors, and exploration of policies for the University’s reform and development.
The Office has set up two sections: the Comprehensive Planning Section and the Discipline Construction Section.
The Comprehensive Planning Section is mainly responsible for the University’s undertakings planning and campus planning, including the study of related policies and laws stipulated by the state, the Ministry of Education and local governments and development trend, the study of the positioning for the school running, features and development trend of the top universities at home and abroad, the formulation of the University’s medium- and long-term development plan, the campus planning and management, the argumentation of, application for and examination & approval of campus construction projects, and the collection, analysis and comprehensive statistics of the University’s related comprehensive data.
The Discipline Construction Section is mainly responsible for the construction of the University’s “Project 211”, the discipline construction, the construction of key projects and the selection of advisors, including the formulation of the development plan of the University’s discipline construction, the design of the overall program for the University’s “Project 211” construction and the application for registration & authorization, argumentation, management and acceptance of sub-items, the argumentation for registration & authorization, examination & approval and management of the University’s discipline construction items, the application for and assessment of the doctoral and master’s academic areas, the appraisal of all disciplines, and the selection & assessment of the advisors of doctoral students and master students.
