Student Affairs Department

    The Student Affairs Department (SAD) is the University’s functional department which is in charge of student affairs. It has set up 2 sections: Ideological Education Section and Student Management Section, and 3 offices: Student Financial Assistance Office, Undergraduate Employment Office and Postgraduate Work Office.
    The main functions of the SAD are to take charge of students’ daily ideological-political education, college students’ after-hours Party school, and the construction of the political instructor group; to be responsible for students’ daily management, rewards & punishments, evaluation & dispensation of scholarships, financial assistance to needy students, and employment guidance to graduates & recommendation & dispatch; and to be in charge of collection & feedback of complaints from students and basic units in order to solve practical problems to maintain the University’s stability.
    For many years, the SAD has firmly fostered the core working idea of “be human-oriented, give top priority to moral education and talents cultivation first”, formed in an accumulating way the working principle of “deepen education, strengthen management, be strict in discipline and pay close attention to the style of study”, and set up a scientific, systematic, open and totally involved ideological-political education system for college students, a clearly-guided and normally-restrained student management system and a multi-tiered omnidirectional service system for student cultivation. It has blazed a new trail for student work with the promotion of students’ all-round development & cultivation as the objective, with the construction of a good style of study as the “hand grab”, with routine work uninterrupted, with attention paid to the summarization of featured work, and with emphasis on breakthroughs in key work, making outstanding achievements. The University has successively won the titles of the “Advanced School for the Party Building and Ideological & Political Work in the Institutions of Higher Learning of Shaanxi Province” and the “National Advanced Collective for Graduate Employment Work”. The China Central Television, the “Guangming Daily”, and the “China Education Daily” have given publicity and coverage of the measures, experiences and results of the University’s new work mode of  strengthening of college student ideological & political education, Party building among students, innovative education & innovative talents training, construction of the political instructor group, and employment guidance.
