Public Security Office
    As a unit at the office level, the Public Security Office (PSO) is an administrative functional department which is responsible for the University’s safety, stability and security work, and it works under the leadership of the vice president in charge, the public security department and the state security department. It has set up 4 sections: Secretaries Section, Vigilance Section I, Vigilance Section II and Campus Security Section (including the “110” Emergency Call Command Center and the School Guards Team). Currently, it has 18 staff members and 150 school guards.
    The main functions of the PSO are as follows:
    1. To establish and perfect the system of management rules and regulations of the University’s security work, and organize the fulfillment of the security management regulations by all the units of the University;
    2. To maintain the University’s political stability in active cooperation with the departments concerned;
    3. To be responsible for the political examination of teachers, students and staff members who will go abroad on business or for private purposes, and for other reasons; to assist the public security organs to have a good management of household registrations and ID cards of teachers, students and staff members;
    4. To undertake the daily work of the offices of the school’s three committees: Security Comprehensive Treatment Committee, Fire Safety Committee and Traffic Safety Committee; to regularly organize safety inspections and actively promote safety technique precautions;
    5. To assist the departments concerned to investigate and treat the political, security and criminal cases that will happen at the University to maintain the security order of the campus;
    6. To take charge of the fire safety management work and instruct & supervise the fulfillment of various fire safety regulations by all the units of the University;
    7. To be in charge of the traffic safety management on the campus, assist the traffic management departments in performing the safety management of vehicles and education of drivers, and assist the investigation & treatment of the traffic accidents that will happen inside the University;
    8. To promote the publicity and education in the law in order to raise the safety precaution consciousness of the teachers, students and staff members and their self-protection ability.
