The Organization Department is one of the important functional departments of the University’s Party Committee and it is mainly responsible for Party building at the primary level and construction of the contingent of cadres at the University.
The chief responsibilities of the Organization Department are to work out and arrange the implementation of the Party Committee’s organization work plan; to render assistance to the Party Committee in the construction of the University’s leading body; to be in charge of construction, adjustment, appointment & evaluation and supervision of middle-level Party & administration leading bodies; to be in charge of appointments & dismissals and management of cadres at the department level; to be in charge of appointments & dismissals and management of the section-level cadres of the Party and masses systems; to select and train reserve cadres; to provide service for retired cadres who took part in the revolution before October 1, 1949 and policy consultation; to be in charge of construction of the Party organizations at the grass-roots level; and to collect, use and manage the Party membership dues.
The United Front Work Department (UFWD) is the functional department through which the University’s Party Committee carries out the united front work and it is the bridge through which the University’s Party and administration leaders maintain ties with the non-Party intellectuals. Its basic function is to report the situation, grasp policies, coordinate relations and recommend talents.
The main duties of the UFWD are to work out the Party Committee’s united front work plan and arrange its implementation; to be in charge of contacts with the non-Party intellectuals; to be responsible for selection, training and recommendation of the non-Party cadres; to politically lead the Democratic Parties at the University, help them to carry out self-construction and support them in their work; to carry out the “policy for compatriots and overseas Chinese”, and to instruct, help and support the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese to go about its work.
The Party School is an important front for the University’s Party Committee to educate the activists who want to join the Party, Party members, and Party cadres on the theory of Marxism, the Party’s basic line and the basic knowledge about the Party. Its main duty is to train and educate in a good way cadres, Party members and activists who wish to join the Party.
